Osteoarthritis Knee Physiotherapy in Lal Kuan; Knee osteoarthritis (OA), commonly known as degenerative joint disease, is frequently brought on by wear-and-tear and articular cartilage loss that occurs over time. It comes up most often in elderly persons and comes in two varieties: primary and secondary: Articular degeneration caused by primary osteoarthritis has no discernible underlying aetiology. Secondary osteoarthritis results from either defective articular cartilage, such as in rheumatoid arthritis, or improper force distribution throughout the joint, as in post-traumatic reasons (RA). Osteoarthritis is a debilitating, long-term joint condition that typically impacts the knees, hands, hips, and spine. Each person's symptom intensity varies, and they typically worsen gradually. When non-surgical therapy alternatives are ineffective, knee osteoarthritis is treated with conservative measures first. Although there are drugs that can decrease the progression of RA and other inflammatory diseases, there are no known disease-modifying treatments for knee OA at this time. [1]
